support from child services to supervise external contact
The person i was supporting has lost their case and an sgo has been granted ,the court guardians and social services have all agreed for me to supervise some of the person's contact with the child. The child at present is suffering with emotional problems and challenging behaviour so the children's guardian has requested that social services should give both parent and myself help the cope with this as in the new year contact will no longer be in a contact center. what sort of support and assistance should parent and i have access to via ss and how do i got about ensuring it is given thanks

Re: support from child services to supervise external contact
Hi i am not happy with child services, on Friday i sent the social worker a text about attending contact with childs father today (Tuesday) and have had no response also tried calling twice today but couldn't get an answer. Today (Tuesday) i attended with father and neither the person who supervises contact or the center itself were aware that i was to be attending contact with father . child services put this in place as part of the process of transitioning from contact center to external. As i am having no joy with child services who else can i speak to about it.

Dear kearasnoop
Thank you for your two posts.
I am sorry to read that the contact did not go as planned.
May I suggest that the child’s father (and yourself) make a complaint, here on our website is how to make complaints. Additionally, we have an advice sheet on our website called Special Guardianship: information for parents, I think it would be helpful too, it has some information in it about contact.
Best wishes
Suzie

Re: support from child services to supervise external contact
Kearasnoop - This is the problem with Childrens Services, they push through contact with extended family members but expect other people to supervise the contact sessions. Personally if Childrens Services are demanding that contact takes place with who ever, they should supervise the contact in a contact centre.
Speaking from personal experience, Social workers are now taking the side of family members and are trying to make my child have contact with their fathers side of family. There is strong factual evidence of criminal activity and drug related incidents, but are now saying they don't have any concerns about this. It appears to be one rule for one and another rule for others. Social worker appears to be supporting them and not me.
