Urgent advice needed

Unread post by sunny1234 » Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:47 am

Good morning everyone

My daughter made an accusation against my partner and said that he touched her. She has over the weekend said that she made up it up because she has issues with her real dad and the abuse she suffered from him and finds it hard to trust men and just wanted my partner out the way. The police have been informed she also has told her grandparents that she made it up and they have also informed the police. My partner has gone and I don't know where he is, the police can't find him. He is innocent and is running scared, the police rang me and said they would still be taking the investigation forward despite my daughter saying she made it up. I really don't know what to do, I could never live with myself if an innocent man was charged because of my child's lies and obvious need for help.
Please any advice is great.

Dear sunny1234

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Board.

The police and other professionals have duties around safeguarding and will investigate when a child says they have been harmed in any way. Children’s services in your area will be told about the allegation too and it is very likely they will contact you, here on our website is information about children’s services and how they work.

If you would like to speak with us on our confidential helpline one of our advisers would be happy to, our service is open Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) 9.30am to 3.00pm on 0808 801 0366.

Best wishes

Suzie
