My children have been in care since 2022, I have one daughter home on a care order, one remaining in LTFC
I have applied for a discharge order and legal aid, legal aid has been granted, and now we have a case management hearing
Can anyone tell me what I can expect, and what is a case management hearing?
Is it normal to get this date really quickly? I have emailed my solicitor but don't want to bother him, so would like personal experiences on this situation and what is the general path for this?

Dear dust_bunny
Welcome to the parents’ discussion forum and thank you for posting.
My name is Suzie, online adviser at Family Rights Group.
It good to see that you have one child back in your care under a care order whilst another remains in long term foster care. You are applying to discharge the care and have a solicitor representing you who should advise you about your application and court procedures
Your question is about a case management hearing and what to expect. A case management hearing is where the application is looked at and the court decides what further evidence may be needed and set dates for things to happen. Here is an explanation from our website about case management hearing although referring to a care case the principles are the same. I am sure your solicitor who has all the information related to our case will be best placed to advice you further.
Hope this is helpful, but you can telephone to speak with one of our experienced advisers should you have further queries although your solicitor will be able to give you case specific advice rather than the general advice we can offer.
Best wishes
Suzie
