Hey!
I've got a question and I'm wondering if you can help.
My partner had a child in 2015 and thier was an incident where he got injured. It was court ordered supervised contact.
Fast forward to 2019 where we had another child. We underwent child protection plan, ppr assessments, where his ppr assessment came back as low risk.
The case was knocked down to CIN, then eventually closed.
We are thinking about having our last child.
My partner mh has been stable and thier has been no incidents with our daughter, ever.
What would the process be if we were to have another child?
Would have to go back through everything we did last time, because if we did I dont want another child.
Thanks for any advice.
Second Child- whats the process?

Dear Narnabread
Welcome to the parents’ discussion forum and thank you for posting.
My name is Suzie online adviser at Family Rights Group. I see from your post that you have had previous involvement with children’s services due to your partner’s background.
Following children’s services involvement, your child was placed on a child protection plan which subsequently went to child in need (CIN) before the case was closed.
You are now considering whether to have another baby and what might happen with children’s services should you do so. It I likely that because of previous involvement with your family children’s services may become involved although it might be to a lesser degree. Children’s services in their 2019 investigations was dealing with a completely new situation. Now, they know the family history having worked with you and your partner before. It appears that you engaged well because the case went to CIN and then was closed.
Should you decide to have a baby children’s services would be looking at your circumstances at the time and it may be that they do not consider that child protection procedures are necessary because of the work you have already done.
You could ask the social worker who dealt with your case previously how you having another child would be viewed by children’s services and their likely involvement.
