Hello, G-parents to 2 granddaughters living with us, currently around 8 weeks away from SGO being granted in court. However, having a lot of trouble with children's social worker; everybody else great, but the unprofessionalism, lies, general rudeness, and obnoxiousness are too much for us to bear this person in our home. There's a current complaint against him.
I would like to ask for the following question : Do we have a right to ask for a new social worker for the remainder of the time, due to the issues with this person?
Unfortunately, he tries to sabotage things when we have glowing reports to the contrary, this is all due to questions abiut things he's done along the way, trying to get the girls adopted, so we feel he is trying to make things difficult, cause trouble, & try to ruin the SGO.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Change of Social worker
Dear citygirl1066
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Forum.
Our guide to working with social workers may be helpful to you,
here is a link to it. You can ask for a change of social worker, on page 7 of the guide, it suggests how to do this.
Your grandchildren’s permanence plan is to live with you under a Special Guardianship Order (SGO), you have said that you are only 8 weeks away from this and I imagine the children’s guardian, the local authority and the court will agree that the Order 'should' be granted.
‘After’ the SGO is granted, you may seek support or services from the local authority’s SGO support team, here is a link to our advice sheet about this.
If you would like to speak with one of our advisers, in confidence, please call our service. Our lines are open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 3.00pm, the number is 0808 801 0366.
Best wishes
