Scoring 0 unborn
Hi.
If a woman is pregnant and has scored 0 from professionals at a child protection conference, does this mean they will take the baby away? When asked they said they won't talk about it there.
The risk of harm is physical and neglect.
Thank you.

Yeah is definitely bad because I had a cp plan with my son and the more improvements we made, the higher the score. Lowest i had was a 2 and highest was an 8. At 3 henwss on cp. At 8 it was dropped. Perhaps its different in different areas.

Dear Rainbowbabymumma,
Thank you for your post. I hope the following information and advice is helpful to you.
Whilst I cannot answer your question about whether a baby will be removed at birth, if a score of 0 was given at a child protection conference this means that the professionals must have very significant and serious concerns about the baby.
If there is a possibility that children's services might be considering removal of your baby then they should work closely with you (and the baby's father) to put in place anything which might reduce the risk of harm. For this reason it is very important that you work as best as you can in partnership with the professionals involved. It is important that you understand exactly what the concerns are about your baby, and that you are clear about what you need to do so that these concerns reduce.
Children's services might wish to carry out a parenting assessment or a pre-birth assessment before your baby is born. You can find out more information about these HERE.
If children's services do begin court proceedings (which can only happen once your baby is born) then it is important that you have a solicitor to represent you. You can find a solicitor using the search function HERE.
You might find it helpful to read our top tips and guides to working with professionals, including social workers and solicitors. You can find this HERE.
I hope that this is helpful. Please post again if you have further questions, or you can call our free, confidential adviceline on 0808 801 0336 to speak with an adviser.
Best wishes,
Suzie
