Our online advice forums are an anonymous space where parents and kinship carers (also known as family and friends carers) can get legal and practical advice, build a support network and learn from other people’s experiences.
Our get help and advice section has template letters, advice sheets and resources about legal and social care processes. On Monday and Thursday afternoons, you can use our webchat service to chat online to an adviser.
Our vlog features a message from Angela, to adopters and social workers about being a birth mum and urging them to reach out to birth parents during the crisis, to let them know their children are safe.
Angela is a Trustee of Family Rights Group and a member of their parents’ panel, one of their expert panels made up of family members with lived experience of the child welfare and family justice system. Her two eldest children were adopted 15 years ago. She is now married with an 8 year old daughter who has had no local authority involvement whatsoever.
