Our online advice forums are an anonymous space where parents and kinship carers (also known as family and friends carers) can get legal and practical advice, build a support network and learn from other people’s experiences.
Our get help and advice section has template letters, advice sheets and resources about legal and social care processes. On Monday and Wednesday afternoons, you can use our webchat service to chat online to an adviser.
Lifelong Links Circles guides social workers and Lifelong Links coordinators through conversations with children and young people about their support networks.
Circles is a new online app created by Family Rights Group to explore who in a child’s life is important to them. It helps map a child’s support network, find out who is there to help them, and how that changes over time.
The app is an integral part of Lifelong Links – the innovative approach we developed to ensure young people have lasting, loving relationships they can turn to throughout life. With a series of questions and digital personas, Circles guides social workers and Lifelong Links coordinators to have a conversation with a child or young person about their support network.
The app has been developed in consultation with young people in care and care leavers, social workers and their managers, family group conference managers and coordinators, and academics.
If your local authority is interested in using Circles then please get in touch to discuss the options. Email: fgcteam@frg.org.uk.
