Angharad Davies

Angharad is a social work adviser at Family Rights Group. She is a qualified children and families social worker with more than a decade of experience working with children, young people and families across children’s social care. Prior to joining Family Rights Group, she held social worker, senior practitioner and management roles with children in care, leaving care and disabled children’s services. 
 
Throughout her social work career, Angharad has worked closely with children, families and kinship carers and her practice experience spans adoption, child and family assessments, child protection, care proceedings, reunification, and supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people.  
 
As a social work adviser, Angharad contributes practice expertise across the charity’s policy, campaign and project streams, with a particular focus on family participation, kinship care, domestic abuse, and the advice and advocacy service. She led the development of Family Rights Group’s Birth Families Map, the first map of support and information services available to birth families in England post adoption. She led the development of a co-produced film for parents with learning difficulties and disabilities about what parents should be able to expect when working with a child and family social worker. Angharad also oversees the charity’s family participation panels and leads our consultancy support for organisations seeking to strengthen family engagement and participation in service design, policy development and practice.
