A Nominated Officer is a senior manager who works for children’s services. Their role is to make certain important decisions about the plans for children looked after in the care system.
For example, they will be the person who makes the final decision within children’s services about:
- Whether a plan for a child to live with foster for adoption foster carers should be progressed
- A looked after child can move to live in a different local authority area.
