Our online advice forums are an anonymous space where parents and kinship carers (also known as family and friends carers) can get legal and practical advice, build a support network and learn from other people’s experiences.
Our get help and advice section has template letters, advice sheets and resources about legal and social care processes. On Monday and Thursday afternoons, you can use our webchat service to chat online to an adviser.
If you think that you could also benefit from the support of one of these organisations, please ask us about them when you contact us for advice. With your permission, we can contact them on your behalf. They will then get in touch with you directly to see how they can support you.

Become support care experienced young people (aged 27 and under). Become can help with questions about the care system or leaving care and can give information on rights and the support available. They also offer ongoing coaching, help in stressful situations and can provide a friendly space to meet other care-experienced young people.
Family Action is a national charity committed to building stronger families and brighter lives. Since the charity was founded in 1869, they have continued to help children and families overcome the challenges they face through a wide range of practical, emotional and financial support. They offer free and immediate support to adult family members through their national helpline, FamilyLine, supporting adult family members via telephone, text, email and web chat.
Help on Your Doorstep works to improve the health and wellbeing of people in the London Borough of Islington, especially those who are vulnerable and isolated. They provide information and advice on a wide range of issues, can link people into specialist advice services and run three Good Neighbours Schemes.
