Lifelong Links: building relationships for children and young people in care

Published: 9th February 2025

2 minute read

Family Rights Group we would like to invite you to our upcoming webinar: “Lifelong Links: building relationships for children and young people in care”.

Lifelong Links is a model designed to make sure every child in care and every care leaver is connected to people who care about them – for life. Developed by Family Rights Group in collaboration with children, families, foster carers and local authorities, it seeks to build lasting and loving relationships and a positive support network that children and young people can rely on during their time in care and into adulthood. Since 2017, almost 4000 children and young people have benefitted. Our “Build not Break” campaign calls on the Government to ensure that all children and young people in care and care leavers are offered Lifelong Links.

Family Rights Group supports local authorities to implement Lifelong Links with children in care. We train Lifelong Links coordinators, publish tools and resources, and provide consultancy support.

Join us at 9:30am on Tuesday 18th March to explore:

  • What is Lifelong Links?
  • The impact of Lifelong Links and the research so far
  • Circles, an online app created by Family Rights Group that helps young people explore their connections
  • A young person who had Lifelong Links sharing their experience of the process
  • A local authority’s perspective on implementing and sustaining a Lifelong Links service
  • The support Family Rights Group can for provide for local authorities

This event is aimed at local authority senior leaders and service managers.

Date: Tuesday 18th March 2025
