Our online advice forums are an anonymous space where parents and kinship carers (also known as family and friends carers) can get legal and practical advice, build a support network and learn from other people’s experiences.
Our get help and advice section has template letters, advice sheets and resources about legal and social care processes. On Monday and Thursday afternoons, you can use our webchat service to chat online to an adviser.
We provide support and advice to expectant birth parents who are thinking about adoption, and those parents and family members who have lost children to adoption (as well as Special Guardianship). Our experienced and empathetic workers are here to listen and offer advice; We offer a listening ear with no judgement. We can help with existing or new keeping in touch arrangements; we can support you to meet your child’s adopters if this is possible. We can help you to write letters and support you with other ways of staying connected to your child; We can signpost you to organisations that offer independent advice or short-term counselling services. When your child becomes an adult, we can also discuss with parents what the options are you would like to find out whether your child might want to have contact.
