Our get help and advice section describes the processes that you and your family are likely to go through, so that you know what to expect. Our webchat service can help you find the information and advice on our website which will help you understand the law and your rights.
Hurdle works with parents, including those who have lost a child to the care system by final care order and have no children in their care currently, or are pregnant and at risk of their newborn baby being removed (CP or PLO). Families are assigned a keyworker who works in partnership with the family. Support is for up to 12 months (longer in exceptional circumstances) and includes help tackling difficulties relating to previous trauma, mental health, and substance abuse. It might also include attending some of our group programmes, domestic abuse courses, or accessing counselling or group therapy.
