Our advice service is free, independent and confidential.

Our online advice forums are an anonymous space where parents and kinship carers (also known as family and friends carers) can get legal and practical advice, build a support network and learn from other people’s experiences.
Our get help and advice section describes the processes that you and your family are likely to go through, so that you know what to expect. Our webchat service can help you find the information and advice on our website which will help you understand the law and your rights.
As Family Rights Group celebrates its 50th anniversary 2024, the London Legal Walk celebrates 20 years of bringing together the legal community to stand up for frontline free legal advice services.
For this anniversary year, Family Rights Group is aiming to join the London Legal Walk with their biggest team ever: 50 walkers for 50 years of Family Rights Group!
The need for free legal help is greater than ever. Demand for Family Rights Group’s advice service is high, but due to funding constraints we can currently only answer four in ten callers.
